Mike Daly

A DeKalb County Georgia native, Mike Daly cut his journalistic teeth in Savannah, GA. There, he covered Hurricane Hugo, a pipe bombing that killed a city alderman and numerous daily stories on life in the Coastal Empire. Mike was the pool video photographer for the final trial of Jim Williams, the main character in a book called “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” by John Berendt. Mike was the pool video photographer for the final trial of Jim Williams, the main character in a book called “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” by John Berendt.

He moved to Greenville, SC in 1992 to work for WYFF TV. In July 1995, Mike moved back to Atlanta. Working at WAGA-TV he found the opportunity to travel the Southeast and the world covering big news events like hurricanes and the war in Iraq.

In 2001, Mike joined the Army Reserve as a video photographer and broadcaster. He was called to active duty three times after 9/11. He spent much of his time at Fort Bragg NC mobilizing troops. But he became a sought-after combat videographer. This landed him in Afghanistan in 2002 and Iraq in 2003 shooting for the 18th Airborne Corps.In 2001, Mike joined the Army Reserve as a video photographer and broadcaster. In 2002, Mike went to “jump school” at Ft. Benning at age 36 and became an Army paratrooper. Staff Sgt. Daly finished his last tour in Iraq in November 2008. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army in February 2009.

Mike also covered Georgia troops in Iraq for WAGA in 2004 and 2005. Both trips won him Southeastern Regional Emmy awards.

In July 2007, Mike left WAGA to devote himself full-time to TomorrowVision Media.
